What statistics can establish

Demographic and economic data can show that a population is changing, that spending or participation is material, or that an inherited market assumption deserves investigation.

Good statistics narrow the search and improve the question. They may indicate where demand, capability or customer duration could be changing.

What statistics cannot establish

A large population does not in itself establish an unmet need, a customer, willingness to pay, organisational access, a viable product or a repeatable business model.

CoLL therefore separates observation from interpretation and commercial hypotheses. We look for a clearly defined person or organisation, a consequential problem or desired form of progress, an identifiable buyer and payer, and behaviour that can be tested.

Population size justifies looking. It does not prove a market.
